If previous reports are to be believed, Apple is working on two new tablets: 11.1-inch iPad Pro and 13-inch iPad Pro. Display analyst Ross Young claims that Apple is going to equip both devices with OLED displays. Seemingly, Apple has partnered with Samsung and LG to source OLED panels for the two tablets. Samsung and LG have reportedly started preparing their factories to mass-produce OLED panels.

According to ET News, Samsung Display confirmed that it has started preparing its manufacturing plants for the mass production of OLED panels for upcoming Apple tablets. Reportedly, these OLED panels will be ‘hybrid’ as they will use a combination of flexible and rigid OLED technologies. They will be manufactured at Samsung Display's factory located in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do in South Korea. More specifically, at the A3 production line there.

The publication also claims that Samsung has partnered with Chemtronics to etch these OLED panels. Etching is a process of eliminating undesired parts from the display circuit. The day that Samsung revealed that the company was preparing its factories for the production of iPad's OLED panels, Chemtronics announced that it would spend KRW 24.2 billion on the etching facility for OLED panels that will be supplied to Apple.

Reportedly, LG has also started preparing its factories to mass-produce OLED panels for the upcoming iPads. The company will manufacture OLED displays for these upcoming tablets at its factory in Paju, South Korea. ET News reveals that LG  has partnered with Avatech for the etching process. With the latest information, it is almost certain that upcoming iPads will have OLED displays.
