Now, the company has released a new security update to the unlocked versions of the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy S21 series phones in the US.
March 2023 security update now available to unlocked Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 devices in the US
The March 2023 security update for the unlocked Galaxy S20 series phones comes with firmware version G98xU1UES3HWB5 in the US. The unlocked units in the Galaxy S21 series are getting the March 2023 security update in the US with firmware version G99xU1UES5EWB5. The carrier-locked units of the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy S21 series might get the new security update within the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S21 series user in the US with an unlocked device, you can download the new security update on your phone by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also flash the new firmware manually after downloading it from our firmware database.
The March 2023 security update includes patches for over 50 security vulnerabilities found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Samsung recently released the One UI 5.1 update to the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy S21 series in various parts of the world.
