Brazil has had very unusual Samsung launches and often lagged behind most other markets. Things appear to have changed for the better this year when Samsung brought the Galaxy S23 series to Brazil on February 1, just like it did in most other countries. And now, Samsung announced that customers in Brazil also have the chance to buy the much cheaper Galaxy A34 5G.

The phone arrives in Brazil in four color options and two memory configurations. Colors include lime green, black, violet, and silver. Memory options include 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for BRL 2,599 ($513) and 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for BRL 2,999 ($592).

If it sounds like the Galaxy A34 5G is expensive, keep in mind that the phone is considerably cheaper in most other markets. But due to local taxes, Brazilians have to pay more for their imported consumer electronics and mobile devices, regardless of whether they're Samsung or a different brand.

Samsung partners with Level Infinite for the Galaxy A34 5G launch in Brazil

To promote the Galaxy A34 5G launch in Brazil, Samsung partnered with Level Infinite, which is the publisher of popular mobile games such as PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, and Tower of Fantasy.

But for the launch of the Galaxy A34 5G in Brazil, Samsung and Level Infinite prepared a gift for Honor of Kings players. Level Infinite released Honor of Kings in Brazil on March 8 so the Galaxy A34 5G couldn't have come at a better time.

Samsung and Level Infinite say Honor of Kings is the most-played mobile MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game in the world. And anyone who purchases the Galaxy A34 5G in Brazil before April 16 will receive an item bundle in Honor of Kings and a BRL 200 ($40) voucher.

As we discovered in our Galaxy A34 5G review, the phone is surprisingly fit for gaming and can run heavier titles. It has a tendency to heat up, particularly around the rear cameras, but memory management and performance are decent even when running more demanding games.
