Samsung's been making good progress on bringing the April 2023 security update to more and more Galaxy devices. This week, devices like the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, and the Galaxy A22 have received the update, and now the Galaxy A52 is getting in on the action as well.
The update is rolling out to the Galaxy A52 in more than a dozen countries, although it will take some time before the rollout has expanded to all countries and users. The update bumps the firmware version up to A525MUBS5DWC1. The April update has not been released for the Galaxy A52 5G yet, but that will probably change soon.
Galaxy A52 April security update is boring (but kinda important)
While Galaxy S23 and Galaxy A22 users are getting more than just the latest security patch, such as camera improvements or One UI 5.1, it's not the case for the Galaxy A52. But the April security patch has a few important vulnerabilities that make it more important compared to your run-of-the-mill software patch. More details on what those fixes are can be found here.
If you're a Galaxy A52 owner, you can check out our firmware archive to see if the April update is available for you. You can also download firmware files from our archive to manually install it on your phone. However, that shouldn't be your first course of action and you should first check for the update's availability from the phone's Settings » Software update menu.
