Microsoft Edge is now rolling out a limited public preview of the Workspace feature that comes with a bunch of benefits. Using this Microsoft Edge Workspace feature, users will be able to save and share a set of browser tabs using a single link. This will negate the time required to share individual links, and now you can easily share a bunch of tabs.
Users can save a bunch of tabs on the same topic and label them within the Microsoft Edge browser. This may sound similar to Microsoft Edge's already existing ‘Collections' feature, which lets you save and organize web pages. However, the new Microsoft Edge Workspace feature adds another layer to the functionality as you can now share the saved tabs with your friends, who can then add or edit the tabs in real-time.
Microsoft Edge's Workspace feature will allow you to collaborate with your colleagues
The Microsoft Edge Workspace feature sits on the top-left corner of the browser. When you click on it, you will see an option to create and name the new Workspace. You can even assign it a color of your choice to differentiate it from other Workspaces. You can then add new tabs to this Workspace and easily share them with your friends or colleagues.
To share the Workspace tabs, you need to click on the ‘Invite' button to the right of the Edge's address bar and then click the ‘Copy link' button. You will have the option to send the link via email, Slack, or any other messaging service of your choice. The person that receives the link will have to download the Microsoft Edge browser in order to view or edit the shared tabs. When the invite is accepted, you will see their name and icon in your Workspace along with the tab they are interacting with.
Microsoft has said that it won't be sharing private information when you use your Workspace, including passwords, downloads, collections, extensions, etc. Also, no one will be allowed to view the website content, which only you have access to. If you wish to use this new Workspace feature, you can visit this link.
