Samsung Display and Ferrari have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will lead to the development of a display solution for Ferrari's next-generation cars. Samsung Display President and CEO JS Choi and Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna attended the signing ceremony at the Asan campus in Korea today.

Samsung Display will develop a new bespoke OLED solution for Ferrari's next-gen luxury supercars and will play a pivotal role in Ferrari's digital transformation.

“Through this strategic partnership with Samsung Display […], we will make a significant step forward in the digital environment of our next-generation models,” said the CEO of Ferrari. JS Choi added that Samsung Display is certain this partnership with Ferrari “will provide an exciting opportunity to apply our strengths to the supercar field and reinforce our position in the automotive OLED market.”

This isn't the first time Samsung and Ferrari cross paths

Ferrari is one of the most renowned supercar brands in the world, and now that it is stepping into the digital era, it needs the best solutions for a seamless and successful transition. Samsung is no doubt the best choice for an OLED supplier, and of course, this should benefit the Korean display giant greatly and allow the company to carve its way further into the automotive world.

This new partnership between Samsung Display and Ferrari doesn't quite come as a huge surprise. Earlier this year, Samsung's subsidiary Harman and Ferrari announced a new multi-faceted partnership that concerns in-cabin experiences as well as Scuderia Ferrari. Harman was appointed the In-Cabin Experience Team partner for Ferrari's Formula 1 team.

Interestingly, Samsung also partnered with Porsche earlier this year, albeit for an event where the story of the legendary Porsche 356, which participated in the 1952 Pan-American Race in Mexico, was showcased on a large The Wall display.

Samsung's display division is slowly becoming a household name in the car industry, and these partnerships only help cement its reputation as a leading OLED manufacturer and supplier.
