Samsung started rolling out the April 2023 security update earlier this month, starting with the Galaxy S23 series. Since then, dozens of Galaxy phones have received the new security update. Now, the same update is rolling out to the Galaxy A71 5G, a phone that was launched more than three years ago.
Galaxy A71 5G April 2023 security update: What's new?
The new software update that is currently rolling out to the Galaxy A71 5G bumps up the firmware version to A716BXXS7FWC1. The update includes the April 2023 security patch that fixes over 60 security flaws that were found in Galaxy phones, including some critical ones related to Exynos chips and modems. It might also bring some bug fixes and stability improvements.
The update is currently rolling out in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. If you live in any of these countries and have a Galaxy A71 5G, you can download and install the new update on your device by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also choose to download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A71 5G alongside the Galaxy A51, Galaxy A51 5G, and the Galaxy A71 three years ago. The phone debuted with Android 10 onboard and has received three major Android OS updates: Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13.
