Samsung has expanded its Bespoke Jet Bot AI to more people and launched a special edition for visually impaired people in South Korea. This new Bespoke Jet Bot AI is developed by applying the design built in collaboration with the pattern design brand ‘dropdropdrop‘. The special edition of the Bespoke Jet Bot AI is based on the concept of ‘EYE LIKE Jet Bot' and is meant to improve visual accessibility.
This new Jet Bot AI was planned on the basis of the fact that visually impaired Koreans find cleaning to be the most difficult task of their daily lives. Moreover, over 90% of Koreans suffering from visual impairment have low vision with residual vision. So, they can basically perceive contrast and certain colors to detect the product easily.
Special edition Bepsoke Jet Bot AI is now available to purchase from the official website
So, Samsung designed the new Bespoke Jet Bot AI in collaboration with dropdropdrop such that it follows the contrast ratio of 7:1. Apart from this, the company also applied ‘W3C' a standard development organization for web browser and server technology, AAA grade coloring, which gives the highest visibility grade of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Samsung has also created a special video for people with low vision that will explain all the benefits of the Jet Bot AI designed for them. Subtitles in the video use the ‘Ongothic' font developed by the Korean Institute for visually impaired people. It will help elderly, presbyopic, and low-vision people recognize and apply subtitles that are three times larger compared to the general advertisement videos. The speed of the video was also such that it will be easier for disabled people to read the subtitles.
There are a total of three special edition variants of the Jet Bot AI that are now available, including the original Bespoke Jet Bot AI. The special edition Bespoke Jet Bot AI will be available to order from the Samsung.com website starting April 19th. The starting price of which is KRW 1,599,000 (roughly $1,291).
