Samsung has released the April 2023 security update for the Galaxy A23. And surprise, surprise! Along with the April 2023 security patch, the Galaxy A23 LTE (SM-A235M) is also getting One UI 5.1 in more markets.
The Galaxy A23 started getting the One UI 5.1 update back in February. Now, the SM-A235M variant is getting One UI 5.1 in Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Panama, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Bolivia, Argentina, and Paraguay.
This time, the One UI 5.1 update is accompanied by the newer April 2023 security patch. The Galaxy A23 (SM-A235M) package carries firmware version A235MUBU2CWD1.
One UI 5.1 improves multitasking, Camera, Gallery
Although the Galaxy A23 doesn't get every One UI 5.1 feature possible due to its limited hardware capabilities and other constraints, there are a handful of new features to look forward to.
For a start, the Gallery app offers a more powerful search engine, a shared family album, and a revamped info display.
Multitasking is improved through additional pop-up view and split-screen features, and Modes and Routines get more actions and an option to set individual per-mode wallpapers.
The Weather app was redesigned, and Samsung Internet offers continuous browsing on other devices and improved bookmark search capabilities. Last but not least, Galaxy A23 users can also take advantage of the new battery widget in One UI 5.1.
In markets where One UI 5.1 and the April 2023 security patch are available, Galaxy A23 users should be able to download them upon receiving the notification or by opening the Settings app on the phone, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Users who prefer manual updates can download the official firmware files from our website.
