Samsung has released the May 2023 update to a bunch of carrier-unlocked Galaxy Z foldable phones in the USA. The list includes the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, as well as the latest Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4.
The update is available for US-bound carrier-unlocked models. The Z Flip 3 gets firmware version F711U1UES4FWD7, while the Galaxy Z Fold 3's update is identified by firmware version F926U1UES3FWD7.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 are getting updated with firmware versions F721U1UES2CWD7 and F936U1UES2CWD7, respectively.
No new features appear to be coming with these latest updates, however, the May 2023 security patch fixes more than 70 flaws in Android OS and Samsung's software combined. Some flaws affect Exynos modems, so that's no concern for the Galaxy Z foldable smartphone series in the USA.
Unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 or 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 and 4 customers in the USA should get an update notification at any moment. They can tap it to start the update process, or they can open the Settings app on their phones, access “Software update,” and tap “Download and install” to begin the update process manually.
