Samsung is swiftly rolling out the May 2023 security update to many Galaxy smartphones and tablets. After releasing the update to the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy M53, Samsung has released the update to the Galaxy A22 5G.
Galaxy A22 5G May 2023 security update: What's new?
The latest software update for the Galaxy A22 5G comes with firmware version A226BRUBS5DWE1. The new update is available in Latin American countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uruguay. The update includes the May 2023 security patch that fixes over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones. Don't expect the new update to bring any new features.
If you have a Galaxy A22 5G and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can now check for the new update. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung could expand the update to the Galaxy A22 5G in more countries within the next few weeks. The smartphone was launched in mid-2021 with Android 11 onboard. The device received the Android 12 update later that year and the Android 13 update in late 2022.
