Last week, Samsung released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy S21 FE in Latin American countries. It was expected that the device would get the new update in more countries soon. Today, the company has released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy S21 FE Europe.
Galaxy S21 FE May 2023 security update: List of countries where it is rolling out
The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware versions G990BXXS4EWE3 (for SM-G990B) and G990B2XXS3EWE3 (for SM-G990B2). The update is currently available in Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, the Caucasus region, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the UK, and Ukraine. The May 2023 security patch included in the new software fixes over 70 security vulnerabilities found in Galaxy phones and tablets.
If you live in any of the countries mentioned above and have the Galaxy S21 FE, you can now check for the new update for your phone. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. It received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and is expected to get the Android 14 update later this year. It will get two more Android OS updates (Android 15 and Android 16) in the future.
