Samsung's Android phones come with a high degree of customizability out of the box, but for those who aren't satisfied and want more, the company provides the Good Lock app. Good Lock includes a number of different modules that let you customize various elements of the user interface for a more flexible experience, and Samsung regularly introduces new features in Good Lock.
Good Lock also receives new features with new versions of Samsung One UI, and that will be the case when One UI 6.0 comes out later this year. There's no word right now on what new Good Lock features we can expect, but Samsung has revealed that the Good Lock team is “working hard to discover useful features and develop One UI 6.”
Even if Samsung doesn't add many new features to Good Lock with the next big update, Good Lock users should keep in mind that the app will still need to be updated to work with Android 14 and One UI 6. Since Good Lock can change critical components of the user interface, it usually stops working when a new version of Android and One UI is released to avoid any bugs and issues.
Samsung has already started updating some of its apps with One UI 6 support, and it will no doubt continue to do so in the coming weeks. Galaxy S23 users will likely be the first to get to try Android 14 and One UI 6.0 through a beta program before eventually bringing it to other devices. Our One UI 6.0 tracker tracks Samsung's progress with the next major OS upgrade, so be sure to bookmark it so you can stay in the loop.
