Samsung is rolling out the June 2023 security update pretty swiftly to mid-range and high-end Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 was the first phone to get the update. Several mid-range phones have also received the new security patch. Now, the new update is rolling out to the Galaxy A53 in the US.
Galaxy A53 5G June 2023 security update fixes over 60 security flaws
The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 5G is getting the new update in the US with firmware version A536USQS6CWE5. The update is currently available on Dish Wireless' network, and other carriers could release the update within the next few days. The June 2023 security patch included in the new software update fixes over 60 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets. Some of them are related to Exynos chips, while others are related to the Knox security suite.
If you have a Galaxy A53's carrier-locked version in the US, you can check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. The unlocked version of the phone hasn't received the update yet.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G early last year with Android 12 onboard. The phone received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update late last year and the One UI 5.1 update earlier this year. It will get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update later this year.
