Samsung has been rolling out the June 2023 security update pretty swiftly. After releasing the new security update to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S22, the company has now released the update to the Galaxy A73. The update has also been released to various mid-range phones and Galaxy Tab devices.
Galaxy A73 June 2023 security update: What's new?
The new software update that is rolling out to the Galaxy A73 bumps up the phone's firmware version to A736BXXU4CWE4. It brings the June 2023 security patch that aims to fix over 60 security vulnerabilities that were found in Galaxy phones and tablets. It doesn't bring any new features, though. The update is now available in Malaysia, but could soon expand to more countries.
If you have a Galaxy A73 and live in Malaysia, you can check for the new update for your phone. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from out firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A73 early last year with Android 12 onboard. The phone received the Android 13 update late last year and the One UI 5.1 update earlier this year. It is expected to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update in a few months from now. The phone will get up to Android 16 update in the future.
