Galaxy S23 series may soon get a June “super update”

Samsung may release a new “super update” for the Galaxy S23 series soon. Exactly what it will bring isn't entirely clear, but a new rumor says it will have a lot of content, hence the “super update” designation.

On one hand, Twitter tipster @UniverseIce claims that Samsung will start rolling out this grand Galaxy S23 firmware update next week. On the other, the update will supposedly arrive “one after another,” which is a claim that adds some confusion to this whole report.

Is this late-June firmware release supposed to consist of one big “super update” or a series of updates Samsung will release in sequence next week? The source isn't very clear about this detail but says battery life on the Galaxy S23 Ultra will remain great. Furthermore, overall performance should improve even further through this June release.

What about the Galaxy S23 camera fixes?

Earlier this week, the same source said Galaxy S23 users have to wait a little more before getting the camera fixes Samsung promised. No timeframe was given, and as of now, it's unclear if the “super update” Samsung will supposedly release next week addresses camera issues in any way. It might, but we'll have to wait for the official changelog to clarify things.

All in all, it sounds like Samsung should be baking either one big firmware update for the Galaxy S23 or several smaller ones and should elevate the flagship experience starting next week. For the sake of the user experience, some of us are hoping it will be one big update rather than several releases, as the latter method would require users to go through the update process and reboot their phones multiple times. Which, ultimately, isn't very user-friendly.

Whatever the case may be, the Galaxy S23 should improve even further, even though, technically speaking, there's little room for improvement given the stellar out-of-the-box experience. But if Samsung can squeeze even more performance from the Galaxy S23 series without affecting battery life, we're all for it.
