Samsung has announced that it is launching a specialized store for gaming hardware. It's called Game Portal. It is an online store where you can buy things like high-performance smartphones, gaming monitors, TVs, and SSDs. The company is launching Game Portal in 30 countries worldwide, starting with Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the US, and the UK in late June.
Game Portal is designed to be a one-stop shop for gamers. It lets users conveniently buy gaming hardware and products made by Samsung, including smartphones, TVs, Odyssey gaming monitors, and high-performance SSDs. The company will also showcase curated content related to games on its online portal. An Accenture study from 2021 found that at least half of the gamers have a cross-platform presence (using more than one device to play games), and they spend an average of 16 hours playing video games. They also spend at least six hours in gaming communities.
Hence, Samsung's Game Portal brings gaming content, product information, expert reviews, product purchase benefits, and offers all in one place. Notable products that people can buy from the Game Portal include the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor, and the 990 PRO SSD. Currently, the company is offering discounts on bundle purchases on Odyssey gaming monitors and Neo QLED 8K TVs.
Evelyn Kim, Executive Vice President of the D2C Center at Samsung Electronics, said, “Gaming has become an important part of consumers’ lifestyle, not just entertainment, especially for Millennials and Gen Z. We will implement various initiatives to provide customers with a superior gaming experience, from purchase to use, by providing an environment that makes it enjoyable and easy to purchase gaming-related products.“
