Many Galaxy S22 series users have been complaining for a long time that neon signs (or other light sources) appear blown out in images captured with the primary rear camera in low-light conditions. Back in March, Samsung acknowledged this issue and said that it was working on a software update that would fix the problem. The development of this software update was supposed to be completed in March, and the update was expected to roll out in April.
Unfortunately, many months have passed by, but the software update still hasn’t been rolled out. Well, Samsung has now revealed that the development of the software patch is complete, and it will be rolled out with the next software update. Considering that the tech giant has already rolled out the July 2023 security patch to the Galaxy S22 series, the fix for neon signs appearing blown out could come as a part of the August 2023 security update for the Galaxy S22 series.
The news comes from the Samsung Community Forum for Korea. When a user on the platform enquired about the status of the update, a moderator replied, “I checked what you mentioned. The update patch will be released in the next software update. The target date is not fixed yet. We will inform you once the software update date is fixed.”
People have also been complaining that the sky appears noisy in images taken in low-light conditions with the primary rear cameras of these phones. We hope that the update fixes this issue as well.
