Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 specifications (leaked)
Reliable tipster SnoopyTech (@_snoopytech_) posted Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic specifications on Twitter. If we believe these claims, both upcoming smartwatches from Samsung will have slimmer bezels, slightly bigger screens, more RAM, and improved fitness tracking. The Galaxy Watch 6 is said to feature a 1.31-inch OLED screen with 432 x 432 pixels resolution and 330ppi pixel density for the 40mm version. The 44mm version of the smartwatch reportedly has a 1.47-inch OLED screen with 480 x 480 pixels resolution and 372ppi pixel density.
The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic reportedly features a thinner rotating bezel than the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The rotating part of the bezel is reportedly made using stainless steel. The 43mm version of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is said to feature a 1.31-inch OLED screen with 432 x 432 pixels resolution and 330ppi, similar to the smaller Galaxy Watch 6. The 47mm version of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic reportedly sports a 1.47-inch OLED screen with 480 x 480 pixels resolution and 372ppi pixel density.
Both upcoming smartwatches are said to be protected using Sapphire Glass on their screens. The report claims that both watches are made using aluminum and have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance (up to 5 ATM) and an MIL-STD-810G rating for drop and shock resistance. The Galaxy Watch 6 will be available in Graphite, Gold, and Silver colors, while the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be sold in Black and Silver colors.
In terms of internal hardware, the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic feature the Exynso W930 processor, which we exclusively reported a few weeks ago. This chipset is said to be around 10% faster than the Exynos W920 chip used in the Galaxy Watch 4 series and the Galaxy Watch 5 series. They have 2GB RAM (512MB more than Galaxy Watch 5) and 16GB internal storage. And they run Wear OS 4 with One UI Watch 5 software, whose features Samsung revealed a few weeks ago.
Connectivity features of the Galaxy Watch 6 series include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and LTE (cellular models only). They also feature microphones and a loudspeaker for taking calls, voice commands, and listening to music. They also feature an accelerometer, barometer, body composition analysis, compass, ECG, gyro, heart rate monitor, SpO2 measurement, and temperature sensor.
The report indicates that both upcoming smartwatches will feature highly detailed sleep tracking and recommendations about getting a better sleep experience. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 and the 43mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic come fitted with a 300mAh battery, while the 44m Galaxy Watch 6 and the 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are said to be powered by a 425mAh battery. All watches have wireless charging.
