Samsung is now bringing the July 2023 security patch to rugged devices, starting with the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro. The update is rolling out in multiple regions, and it is now available for both the Wi-Fi only and LTE/5G variants.

The Wi-Fi-only Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro (SM-T630) is getting the July 2023 update in the USA and Europe through firmware version T630XXS3BWG2.

The update is also available for the rugged 5G tablet in Korea (SM-T636N) through firmware version T636NKOS3BWG1. Meanwhile, in Europe, the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro 5G (SM-T636B) receives the same July update through firmware version T636BXXS3BWG2, similar to the Wi-Fi variant.

And last but not least, the security patch is available for the 5G tablet in Chile, Mexico, and Colombia, where users can identify the update through firmware number T636BXXS2BWF2.

Rugged Samsung tablet becomes more secure

Samsung's July 2023 release addresses 90 security flaws in total, some of which don't concern the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro in particular. Google provides 52 fixes for its apps and mobile OS, while Samsung addresses 38 issues and vulnerabilities that affect its software and hardware.

Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro users in markets where the July update is available should be able to download it via the Settings app on the tablet after accessing the “Software update” section and tapping “Download and install.” Users who prefer manual updates via a Windows PC can download the official firmware files from our website.
