Four years have passed since Samsung released the original Galaxy Fold, and the company is now ready to unleash the fifth-generation foldable device upon the mobile world. Announced at Galaxy Unpacked in Seoul, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is almost ready to ship out.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is now available for pre-order in select markets. Fans who have pre-registered for the device and plan on pre-ordering it from the company's online store will receive $50 in Samsung Credit (offer is not available everywhere).
Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in three standard colors, Icy Blue, Phantom Black, and Cream, and two online-exclusive colors, Gray and Blue. Color availability depends on the market, and so does the Galaxy Z Fold 5's price.

Samsung developed three Galaxy Z Fold 5 versions, each with a different storage capacity. All variants have 12GB of RAM, but onboard storage varies from 256GB to 512GB and 1TB.
Needless to say, the 256GB Galaxy Z Fold 5 costs the least and starts at £1,749. The 512GB can be pre-ordered for £1,849, while the 1TB variant costs £2,049. In the USA, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at $1,799.
For a direct comparison with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the 2022 model with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of storage was released for £1,649, £1,769, and £2,019, respectively. Which means the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is between £100 and £30 more expensive than its predecessor.
As for the pre-order period, it's open now and will last for two weeks before the phone goes on sale from August 11.
It's worth noting that pre-order customers can get up to a £650 price reduction if they trade in their old smartphone. Furthermore, customers who pre-order get double the storage, i.e., they can buy the 512GB Galaxy Z Fold 5 for the price of the 256GB variant.
In addition, Samsung is “committed to giving customers peace of mind with Samsung Care+.” Therefore, buyers can benefit from special discounts on the premium support service during the pre-order window. However, these pre-order Samsung Care+ bonuses differ depending on the market, so if you plan on buying the Galaxy Z Fold 5, you'll have to check with your local Samsung online store for more details.
