Samsung has released the July 2023 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US. Two weeks ago, the update was released to the global models of these two foldable smartphones. The US variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 are now getting updated.
The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is getting the July 2023 security update with firmware version F711USQS5FWG2. This update is rolling out in Dish, Metro PCS, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile networks in the US. The factory-unlocked version of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is getting the new security update with firmware version F711U1TBS4FWF3, and this update is available on Dish, Metro PCS, and Tracfone networks in the US.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3's carrier-locked variant gets the July 2023 security update with firmware version F926USQS4FWG2, and it is available on Metro PCS, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile networks in the US. The update carrying the July 2023 security patch for the factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes bearing firmware F926U1UES3FWF3. It is available on three carrier networks in the US: Metro PCS, Tracfone, and T-Mobile.
According to Samsung's security bulletin, the July 2023 security update brings over 90 security improvements. Both the foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3, will not get any new features or performance enhancements with the July 2023 update as it is only a security patch. They will most likely get new features with the upcoming One UI 5.1.1 update in the next few weeks.
