Samsung phones are known for their high-quality cameras and imaging features, but they also have one major area of concern. Smartphones made by the South Korean firm suffer from camera lag. When the shutter button is clicked, there is a lag before the image appears on the viewfinder. It seems to have been fixed with the newest Galaxy phone.
According to the folks at Android Central, there is no perceivable camera lag on the Galaxy Z Fold 5. After using the new foldable phone for a few days, the publication reports that they've noticed that the phone is faster in capturing images back to back. The shutter speed seems to appear faster, and there is almost no delay between hitting the shutter button and the image appearing in the viewfinder.
Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has almost no noticeable shutter lag. You can see the comparison video of the shutter lag on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 below. It is being reported that the camera app on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 feels even faster than the Galaxy S23 despite both phones using the same chipset.
We hope Samsung phones continue on this path and negate lag in the camera app. The only problem that Samsung phones now need to solve is the shutter lag while capturing images of fast-moving objects like kids and pets.
