Galaxy S20 FE (LTE) August 2023 security update: What's new?
The latest software update for the Galaxy S20 FE (SM-G780G) comes bearing firmware version G780GXXS6EWG9. The update is now rolling out in Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Paraguay, and Trinidad & Tobago. It is only a security update, so don't expect it to bring any new features or performance improvements to the Galaxy S20 FE. Samsung is yet to reveal which security flaws it has fixed with the August 2022 patch.
If you have a Galaxy S20 FE and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can now check for the new update. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE's 4G version with the Snapdragon 865 processor in the second half of 2020 with Android 10 onboard. It received the Android 11 update by the end of 2020 and the Android 12 update in the fourth quarter of 2021. Late last year, the phone received the Android 13 update, which was its last major update.
