Samsung started rolling out the August 2023 security update last week, and the Galaxy S20 FE (LTE) was the first phone to get the update. Now, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G has started getting the new security update. The new software update is available in most Latin American countries and could expand to more regions soon.
Galaxy S20 FE 5G August 2023 security update: What's new?
The new software update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G comes bearing firmware version G781BXXS7HWG9. The update is available in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, and Trinidad And Tobago. Samsung has revealed that the August 2023 security update fixes over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The new software for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements.
If you have a Galaxy S20 FE 5G and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can now check for the new update. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin software.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the second half of 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The phone received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The Galaxy S20 FE series won't get the Android 14 update.
