SmartThings Find is Samsung's take on Google's Find My Device feature. As the name suggests, you can locate your lost Samsung Galaxy phone, tablet, smartwatch, earbuds, and more using SmartThings Find. The app becomes more useful as it can help you locate your lost device even if it isn't connected to the internet.
While this has been a feature of SmartThings Find for some time, someone on Reddit (Aalbert4_) allegedly claims that SmartThings Find can now locate your Samsung Galaxy device even if it has been restarted. The post claims that this feature wasn't available a couple of months ago, and some could force-restart the device to stop it from being located. However, SmartThings Find has now gained the ability to locate a device even after it is restarted.
This claim is a bit blurry, as there is no screenshot to confirm that the feature works. So, we advise our readers to take t of information with a pinch of salt. One user claims that while it is impossible to locate a device if it is powered off, if the settings have been tweaked and the ‘power off' is changed to ‘sleep mode,' and the motherboard has been re-wired, then phones will be able to be located when they are turned off.
Although the ability to locate lost devices ware turned off is available on SmartThings Find, the feature to locate Galaxy devices even if they have been restarted seems to have allegedly re-appeared on the app. This claim is something that needs confirmation from huge Samsung Galaxy community.
