There's been a greater push towards sustainability and eco-consciousness across all industries. The smartphone industry is no stranger to such initiatives and Samsung has been at the forefront of this monumental shift for years.

The company has made it a mission to improve sustainability practices across its entire operations. That philosophy is also apparent in the materials it's now using for its products. Samsung has also made strides in sustainable packaging. When you talk about eco-conscious phones, it's great to see that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is right up there with the best of them.

Big jump in the number of sustainable materials used for the Galaxy Z Fold 5

It's very easy for companies to say that they care for the environment and are committed to making their products more sustainable. Walking the talk is not only difficult but also expensive from a business standpoint. What we've been seeing over the years is that Samsung has made a firm commitment to this and has taken actionable steps to reduce the environmental impact of its products and operations.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the perfect example of that commitment. The number of eco-conscious materials has increased to 15 in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 compared to just 6 in the Galaxy Z Fold 4. For example, the SIM tray, volume keys, and camera rings are all made from pre-consumer recycled aluminium.

Recycled plastic has also been used in the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It's found in several components such as the top speaker and bottom speaker modules, volume key bracket, and 5G antenna deco. Pre-consumer recycled glass is used for the back glass and sub window. All of the official accessories for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 also contain eco-conscious materials.

It's also worth nothing that if you buy the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the packaging you'll get will be made from 100% recycled paper. Once you extrapolate the impact of these minor sustainability improvements over the sheer volume that Samsung ships, you can truly get a sense at the scale on which Samsung is undertaking its commitment to cleaner and greener planet.
