The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, featuring a massive 14.6-inch screen, will start reaching customers who pre-ordered it. However, right before that happens, Xiaomi has announced that it will unveil its own tablet with a 14-inch screen, called the Xiaomi Mi Pad 6 Max, on August 14 in China. The upcoming tablet will debut alongside the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, a book-like foldable smartphone similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

According to a teaser image shared by Xiaomi, the 14-inch display on the Pad 6 Max will be 62% bigger than the 11-inch screens on the Mi Pad 6 and 6 Pro announced earlier this year. In one of the teaser images, Xiaomi even compared the tablet to a laptop with a 14-inch screen, boasting that display on the Mi Pad 6 Max will be huge. However, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra's display is even bigger, measuring 14.6 inches diagonally. So Samsung is still holding its ground regarding the biggest screen size on tablets.

The teaser images show that the tablet will have two cameras at the front and two at the rear, similar to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. According to various reports, one of the two cameras at the rear is a 3D ToF sensor that can be used for depth sensing and 3D modeling. One of the two cameras at the front is also said to be a 3D ToF sensor, which can be used for unlocking the tablet using biometric face recognition and automatically playing/pausing media by detecting the position of eyes.

Xiaomi didn't reveal any other features of the upcoming tablet. However, the Mi Pad 6 Max was recently spotted on several certification websites. It features the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB RAM, 67W fast charging, and Android 13. Looking at these specs, the Mi Pad 6 Max looks like an interesting tablet. However, it is nowhere near the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which features a larger display, a faster processor, dust and water resistance rating, and many other features. But Samsung should keep an eye out for the competition.
