The camera is undoubtedly one of the biggest selling points for any smartphone these days, even more so for flagship phones that cost more than $1,000. Since the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is one of the most expensive phones on the market, customers rightly have an expectation that its cameras will perform reasonably well.

While Samsung's Galaxy S series remains its true camera flagship, the company has continued to improve the camera capabilities of its foldable phones. This time around, it has relied on advanced software to improve the camera results of the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

How software helps the Galaxy Z Fold 5 take better pictures

If you look at the Galaxy Z Fold 5 vs Galaxy Z Fold 4 specs, you'll notice that the cameras aren't that different. For example, the 50 MP OIS F1.8 wide-angle sensor is same on both models. The 2023 model shares its camera sensors with its predecessor, but Samsung has turned to software to enable these sensors to provide better results.

The company has extensively worked on improving the perceived image quality through advanced software algorithms that are further aided by the enhanced processing capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that powers the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

While Samsung doesn't go into a lot of detail about how these algorithms deliver these results, it's evident that compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 camera captures brighter photos with rich color tones even in low-light environments. The Super HDR software also ensures that the images aren't over-saturated.

Furthermore, the cameras also provide adaptive video digital image stabilization. This feature improves image stabilization at night without glare, thus resulting in better videos and images captured in low light environments. You can experience all of these advancements yourself by buying the Galaxy Z Fold 5 from Samsung today.
