Just a few days ago, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 received the One UI 5.1.1 update with multiple new features. Now, Samsung has started rolling out the September 2023 security update to the foldable smartphone. Right now, the update is available in Europe and could be released in other regions soon.
The latest security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes bearing firmware version F916BXXS4KWHB. It brings the September 2023 security patch that fixes over 60 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software. It doesn't bring any new features or performance enhancements. The update is available in Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Romania, Southeast Europe, the Baltic region, and the Czech Republic.
If you live in any of the countries mentioned above and have a Galaxy Z Fold 2, you can now download the new software update on your phone. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update on your phone and then tap Download and install. If the update is available, it will start getting downloaded.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 2 three years ago with Android 10 out of the box. It received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021, the Android 12-based One UI 4 update in late 2021, and the Android 13-based One UI 5 update in late 2022.
