Samsung makes the best Android tablets in the world, and over the past couple of years, it has started taking laptops quite seriously as a part of its ecosystem of products. In the future, the company is planning to double down on its efforts in the laptop and tablet segments by bringing more impressive hardware and plenty of productivity features.

Samsung is planning to improve productivity features on Galaxy Books and Galaxy Tabs

The company seems to have held discussions (via Revegnus) with university students in South Korea to discuss some of the features it is working on for future laptops and tablets. According to a forum post, Samsung is considering improving the document-sharing mechanism with third-party laptops, tablets, and digital whiteboard devices. With respect to its Galaxy Tab device, it is planning to improve the S Pen compared to the Apple Pencil by improving latency. It is also planning to bring attachments to the S Pen to make it easier to use the stylus for a long time, and these accessories could be offered for free.

The Action Button placement on the S Pen could also be changed. The company is also planning to bring an anti-reflective coating to the screen to improve the experience. Samsung also reportedly discussed its plans to improve the camera, loudspeaker, and microphone quality on its laptops and tablets.

The Samsung Notes app comes pre-installed on all Samsung laptops and tablets, and the company is planning to improve it with new features. The South Korean firm may add a highlighter feature to Samsung Notes, similar to the one seen in the GoodNotes app. The company is also planning to collaborate with Google Translate, Naver Papago, and Clova to improve productivity on its laptops and tablets.

Samsung planned to bring more accessories for laptops and tablets, but most of them are on hold

The report also claims that Samsung had originally planned more accessories for its laptops and tablets, but some of them have been put on hold for reasons unknown. Among those accessories are the Book Cover with four sides closed and an S Pen case. Even if Samsung brings some of these features with the Galaxy Book 4 and the Galaxy Tab S10, it would further strengthen the company's ecosystem.

Looking at Samsung's track record in the laptop segment, the Galaxy Book 4 could use Intel's recently announced Meteor Lake processors. These 7nm (Intel 4) chips are claimed to bring massive performance and power-efficiency improvements, so future Galaxy Book laptops could last a whole lot longer than the Galaxy Book 3 lineup.
