A relatively new hacking group called Ransomed.vc had claimed earlier this week that it had hacked into “all” of Sony's systems. The situation doesn't seem to be as serious right now but the controversy around the hack is escalating. An independent threat actor going by the name “MajorNelson” has claimed that Ransomed.vc is lying about the breach. MajorNelson also leaked the data that the group claims to have, including what appears to be login details for internal systems, incident response policies, etc.
It's unclear at the moment what the real story behind the hack is but Sony is taking it seriously. “We are currently investigating the situation,” a spokesperson for the company has confirmed, but details about what may have been leaked as a result of this breach haven't been provided.
