The new foldables, tablets, and smartwatches Samsung launched at its Unpacked event in August have received great reviews, but the premium price tags attached to those products make them something of a hard sell in the current economic climate, especially in countries like India where even in the best of times flagship mobile devices don't exactly fly off retail shelves.
But Samsung India has a plan to change that for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Tab S9: pop-up stores. The company has announced that it will be opening 15 pop-up stores across different Indian cities where it will let people try out the new devices and also showcase how they can benefit from the Samsung ecosystem.
People visiting these pop-up stores will also get live demo sessions and the chance to participate in giveaways. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are the main focus according to Samsung and the pop-up stores are part of a plan to mainstream the company's foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 saw increased pre-orders in the country compared to previous models, and Samsung says consumers in both big cities and small towns showed more interest in the foldables this year.
The first of these pop-up stores launched in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad on September 22 and will be open until October 2, following which the stores will come to smaller cities and towns (though Samsung hasn't revealed their names right now). The foldables, smartwatches, and tablets will be available for purchase at these stores, along with the Galax Buds 2 Pro earbuds and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 laptop, and customers will be able to take advantage of various offers and will also walk out with free gifts.
