Samsung has released the October 2023 security update to the carrier-locked and factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the US. The update has already been released to several other foldable and slab-style high-end smartphones from Samsung.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 October 2023 security update is now live in the US
The latest security update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with firmware version F721USQS3DWI1, while the update for the factory-unlocked version of the phone comes with firmware version F721U1UES3DWI1. This update is available pretty widely in the US. It brings the October 2023 security update and fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version.
If you have a Galaxy Z Flip 4 and if you live in the US, chances are that a new update is waiting for your phone. To install the new update, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. Alternatively, you can manually flash the new firmware by downloading the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database. You need a Windows PC and the Odin tool for the manual firmware flashing process.
When will Galaxy Z Flip 4 get the Android 14 (One UI 6) update?
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in mid-2022 with Android 12 onboard. It received the Android 13-based One UI 5 update in late 2022 and the One UI 5.1.1 update a few weeks ago. It will likely get the Android 14-based One UI 6 update in the coming weeks.
