Samsung has released a new Android 14-based One UI 6.0 beta update for the Galaxy S23 series. This is the ninth major release, and it has debuted in the USA. It will likely be released in other markets where the One UI 6.0 beta program is offered later today.
This new update was expected, as Samsung had said it would release another beta if it found any issues in the previous build. According to the changelog, bugs have been fixed and the overall stability of the software has been improved, and the vague language suggests there were no major bugs or issues to address (which was also the case for the eighth beta, so make of that what you will).
The newest build comes with firmware version ending in ZWJM and is a 420MB download in the US; the download size should be similar in other countries once the rollout expands outside the USA. To download it, follow the usual route – open the Settings app on your phone, navigate to Software update, then tap the Download and install option. Do it multiple times if the update doesn't show up on the first try.
Samsung has said that the beta program for the Galaxy S23 series could end this week, and while the ninth update might have put a spanner in the works, the stable release is expected to happen very soon, so you will want to make sure your Galaxy S23 or any other eligible Galaxy smartphone is fully prepared for the major OS upgrade.
