Unlike this year, Samsung plans to dual-source chips for Galaxy S24 series phones next year. The Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ are rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy chip in Canada, China, and the US, while other markets will get their Exynos 2400 variants. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will exclusively use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy. The Samsung-exclusive Snapdragon chip is rumored to be faster than the stock Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
Galaxy S24 could feature faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor
According to the information from tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor that is rumored to be used in the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a GPU that's clocked at a whopping 1,000MHz. This is likely higher than the GPU clock speed of the stock version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that is being used in flagship phones from most other Android smartphone brands.
While Qualcomm has revealed the clock speeds of the CPU cores in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it didn't reveal the clock speed of the Adreno 750 GPU. However, it is likely that the clock speed of the Adreno 750 GPU inside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy is higher than the stock version, offering better gaming performance. This chip will also be used in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 that exclusively used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor. It is a faster version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, featuring a slightly faster CPU and a slightly faster GPU. It was exclusive to Samsung phones until a couple of months ago and has also been used in the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
