In an official blog, Google announced that the Photos app is getting two new AI-powered features. These Google Photos AI features will help users declutter and organize their library better. We take a lot of photos, videos, and screenshots using our smartphones, and often the library can quickly become overloaded with duplicate images and screenshots. The two new AI tools for Google Photos are intended to assist users in removing unneeded clutter.
Google Photos is rolling out a feature called ‘Photo Stack' and it aims to solve an important problem for users who take a lot of photos. The ‘Photo Stack' feature lets Google Photos automatically identify and group similar photos among all of your photos that it thinks are the top picks. Don't worry, you can edit the automatically generated stacks by Photo Stacks if you don't like the photos inside the collection. If you don't like the feature, you also get the option to disable it.

The latest Google Photos update also brings better screenshot and document photo management. As per the official blog, Google notes that the Photos app will use AI to identify and group similar screenshots and images of documents in your gallery. Google Photos will then categorize images into separate albums in your gallery such as receipts, event information, IDs, etc.
Additionally, Google Photos is adding reminders to the calendar by extracting information from the images in your gallery and will add details to the calendar such as concert timings, etc. Users will also have the option to archive the screenshots and documents automatically after 30 days. The two new Google Photos AI features, i.e., Photo Stack and screenshot management, are available for both Android and iOS users.
