A few days ago, Samsung released the November 2023 security update to the Galaxy S21 FE in Latin America and the US. Now, the company is expanding the reach of the update to the European region. More regions could get the Galaxy S21 FE update in the next few days.
Galaxy S21 FE gets November 2023 security update in Europe
The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990BXXS6EWJB (G990B2XXS5EWJB for the newer version of the phone). The update is currently available in Ireland, and we expect more European countries to get the update with the same firmware version in the next few days.
According to Samsung's security bulletin, the November 2023 security patch included in the new update fixes 65 security vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the phone's software. It is a minor update, so you can download it via a cellular connection, and you can install it without backing up your data. The update doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements.
If you have a Galaxy S21 FE and live in Europe, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a computer running Windows OS and having the Odin tool installed.
