Galaxy S25 might look totally different from the S24 and earlier models

Samsung's next-gen Galaxy S24 will refine the existing design formula rather than redefining it. At least, that's what all the credible leaks so far suggest. However, a fresh rumor claims that Samsung is in the process of making significant design changes the year after.

The Galaxy S24 might be the last in the flagship series to carry the now-familiar design. According to an X (formerly Twitter) tipster, the Galaxy S25 series, which Samsung will likely announce in 2025, is expected to bring significant design changes.

Supposedly, the person leading this endeavor is Hubert H. Lee, who has been the Head of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Design Team since December 2022.

Is Samsung redefining the Galaxy image?

According to this fresh rumor, Hubert H. Lee, a former designer at Mercedes-Benz, has been tasked with redefining and refreshing the image of Samsung Galaxy, beginning with the Galaxy S25.

No other details are known, but if this rumor is correct, it sounds like the Galaxy S25 series will spearhead a new design change that will trickle down to other models in the Galaxy portfolio, similar to how the Galaxy S22 and S23 influenced the cheaper Galaxy A lineup.

Editor's Note: Samsung has been working on the next-generation OLED 2.0 solution, and last year, the company said it was aiming to set a new standard for fingerprint-based security in 2025 using multi-fingerprint scanning technology across the entire surface of the OLED 2.0 panel.

The launch of OLED 2.0 could also mark the transition of UPC (Under Panel Camera) from foldable phones to slab-type Galaxy devices.

OLED 2.0 is a big deal for Samsung Display and the mobile division. OLED 2.0's debut, assuming it's in the cards for 2025, could be significant enough that Samsung believes a Galaxy S flagship redesign is warranted.
