Larian Studios has announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available for Microsoft Xbox Series X|S. The game developer made the announcement right after Baldur’s Gate 3 won the Game Of The Year award at The Game Awards 2023 yesterday. You can purchase Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Series X|S from the Microsoft Store at $69.99 in the US.

Larian Studios released Baldur’s Gate 3 on August 3, 2023. Back then, however, the game developer made it available only on Windows. A month later, it released the title on Sony PlayStation 5 and the same month, it also made the game available for macOS. So, why did it take Larian Studios almost three additional months to bring it to Xbox?

Baldur's Gate 3 Now Available On Xbox Series X|S

Why did Baldur's Gate 3 arrive late on Xbox Series X|S?

The game developer had a hard time getting Baldur’s Gate 3’s split-screen cooperative play mode to work on the Xbox Series S, which is the least powerful model among the two gaming consoles in the Xbox Series lineup. Larian Studios couldn’t have released the game on just the Xbox Series X because Microsoft requires games to run the same way on both gaming consoles. Fortunately, the game developer solved the issue and Baldur’s Gate is finally here for Microsoft’s latest gaming consoles.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the hottest games in the market at the moment. A couple of days ago, Lairan Studios revealed that more than 1.3 million players have completed the game, which is quite impressive, and that number will go up drastically in the coming days now that the game is available on Xbox Series X|S.
