It is almost confirmed that Samsung is sticking to a four-camera setup on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The company's next-generation flagship smartphone is expected to keep the same primary, ultrawide, and first telephoto camera as its predecessor while upgrading the long-range telephoto camera. Now, more details about the phone have been leaked, and the rumor claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will offer better zoom while recording 8K videos.
Galaxy S24 Ultra to feature 8K video recording with 5x optical zoom
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will use a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera, according to tipster Ahmed Qwaider. The phone can reportedly record 8K videos with up to 5x zoom. This is likely due to the upgraded 50MP telephoto camera that offers higher resolution and bigger pixels, resulting in improved light gathering. Currently, the Galaxy S23 Ultra can record 8K 30fps videos, but all its zooming-in capabilities in that mode use pure digital zoom. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, will have a 5x optical zoom lens to offer improved reach while recording 8K videos.
The report also claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers portrait mode with 5x zoom. The phone reportedly also features improved stabilization during daylight and low-light conditions. Its AI Object Aware Engine reportedly works on front and rear-facing cameras. It should be able to offer portrait effects and other fun imaging features. On the front, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is claimed to feature the same 12MP selfie camera seen on the Galaxy S23 series.
Galaxy S24 could offer HDR image quality on Facebook and Instagram
Ahmed Qwaider also claims that Samsung has partnered with Meta to offer improved image and video quality while posting images through Facebook and Instagram. Thanks to their partnership, users can post HDR images and videos to Meta's social media apps, improving the image quality when capturing memories directly inside social media apps. A previous report claimed that the Galaxy S24 can post images to Instagram and Snapchat directly from the lock screen shortcut.
