Samsung makes some of the best smartphone camera sensors, and several brands use its camera sensor in their phones, ranging from entry-level to high-end. The South Korean firm's 200MP cameras are unique, and newer flagship phones from smartphone brands have started using them as telephoto cameras, including the one coming from Honor.
Honor Magic 6 Pro uses a 200MP ISOCELL HP3 sensor for the telephoto camera
The Honor Magic 6 Pro, which is the company's next flagship smartphone, uses a 200MP camera sensor from Samsung for its telephoto camera. According to @Rodent950, the Porsche Design version of the Magic 6 Pro reportedly features the 200MP ISOCELL HP3 camera sensor from Samsung, sitting behind a periscope-style telephoto lens. It could be a 3.5x or 5x optical zoom lens, but nothing has been made official yet. The images do reveal 100x zoom printed on the phone's camera housing. For the primary camera, the Magic 6 Pro Porsche Design is expected to use a 1-inch OV50K sensor from OmniVision. The ultrawide camera on this smartphone uses an OmniVision OV50M 1/2.88-inch sensor.
Reports reveal that the Honor Magic 6 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It is also said to feature a 5,600mAh battery, which is 12% bigger than Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone. It will have 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants, and we expect the phone to have a minimum of 12GB RAM. It has a quad-curved OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Dynamic Island, like the newer iPhones, featuring a dual-selfie camera setup.
Honor, which was earlier a sub-brand of Huawei, is now an independent firm. The company is planning to unveil the Honor Magic 6 Pro series and MagicOS 8.0 at a two-day event next week (January 10-11) in China. We expect this smartphone to launch outside of China within the next few months to compete with the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
