Many people had reported that after installing the update, the app would crash immediately after they opened it, rendering it inoperable. The only way to fix this issue was to uninstall the app, leave the beta program, and install the stable version of the app, which would remove all the content people downloaded on Spotify for offline use. Well, not anymore, as the fix for this issue has arrived.
According to a post on the Spotify Community, Spotify is rolling out version 8.9.4.33 of the Spotify app for Android to devices enrolled in the beta program. Unlike the previous version of the app, the new one does not crash after you open it. That means you can now install the beta version of Spotify to get the new features before they are rolled out to the public without worrying about it being inoperable. That being said, since this is a beta version of the app, it might have minor bugs that might hinder normal functionality.
The listing of the Spotify app on Aptiode, an app distribution platform like Google Play Store, reveals that Spotify has rolled out three more versions of the Spotify app for Android within the last three days, with the latest one carrying version number 8.9.4.38. You can get it by updating the app through the Google Play Store or downloading the APK file and sideloading it on your device. At the moment, there’s no information if the latest version has any major issues. If it does, you’ll have to roll back to version 8.9.4.33.
