Apple’s upcoming lineup of smartphones, the iPhone 16, will launch later this year. While there’s still a lot of time for these phones to come out, we’ve had plenty of leaks about the specifications of all four models in the series. Today, we have our first look at the mockups of the two smartphones in the lineup, the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The latest set of images comes from MacRumors, and according to the publication, they’ve created these renders based on the information they recently received.

No major design changes

Going by the images, the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max look largely similar to the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and that’s not a bad thing because the design of the current generation devices is modern and practical. However, it’s sad to see that Apple hasn’t made any major improvements to the iPhone’s design since iPhone 12.

Addition of a capture button

There’s one minor change though, and that’s the addition of a button on the right-hand side of these devices. As previous leaks and rumors had claimed, this is the capture button. You can press this button to take photos or videos. This button takes the place of the mmWave antenna. So, Apple is moving that part to the right-hand side of the devices.

Displays are getting bigger

Of course, Apple is also said to be increasing the size of the iPhone 16 Pro’s display from 6.1-inch to 6.3-inch and that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max from 6.7-inch to 6.9-inch but you might hardly be able to notice that change in renders. With the increase in display’s size, and therefore, the device’s size, Apple is also getting the required space to add a periscope camera to the iPhone 16 Pro, a feature that was present on the iPhone 15 Pro Max but not on the iPhone 15 Pro due to the lack of space.

The design of the iPhone 16 lineup is still in the early stages, and Apple could make minor changes until the two devices go into production. So, don’t assume that this is the final design of the two upcoming devices.
