WhatsApp has been working on some big new features for the app that will make their way to the app. The web version of the app is also slated to receive some new features related to the dark theme. In the latest beta version of the app, WhatsApp is spotted working on another set of new features, this time related to the appearance of the app.

As per the latest report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a theme picker for the iOS version of the app. Notably, WhatsApp could soon allow its users to pick from five accent colors. The latest beta WhatsApp iOS app shows some code that will allow users to use the theme picker and apply accent colors to some parts of the UI.

This includes the message counts on the right side of the chat list, the ring around the status updates, the colors of the selected tabs at the bottom, and some buttons on the interface.

The story continues after the video…

WhatsApp is currently rolling out the sticker editor feature to beta testers on iOS

The five colors that WhatsApp's theme picker will offer include green, blue, off-white, pink, and purple. The WhatsApp theme picker was spotted in the iOS beta v24.1.10.70 of the app. Meanwhile, the more recent version of the WhatsApp beta for iOS v24.1.10.72, which is rolling out to testers, includes a new sticker editor. This eliminates the need to use third-party sticker editors.

According to the report, by tapping on the existing stickers, users will be able to edit the stickers using the Edit Sticker button. There is another button titled Create Your Own that will allow users to create their stickers within the app. Moreover, users will be able to remove the background from images when creating stickers.

Note that these features are either currently in development or rolling out for beta testers on iOS. Android users might have to wait for some time before these features arrive for them.
