At CES 2024, Samsung is showcasing its new home appliances lineup, featuring a sleek design, powerful performance, and AI-powered features. The new home appliances are not only feature-rich but also take care of the emissions as per carbon emission standards.
Samsung has announced that ten of its home appliance models have received the Product Carbon Footprint certification. It confirms that the home appliances have received the certification as they are in accordance with the global standard, PAS 2050:2011. Moreover, the whole carbon footprint of each device is measured from the “cradle to the grave,” which means that the entire supply chain (raw materials, manufacturing, distribution, and disposal) used for those products has been in accordance with prescribed limits of emissions.
Those ten products that received the Product Carbon Footprint certification include three BMF Refrigerator models, one Windree Air Conditioner, and Bespoke Grande washing machines. Samsung said in a statement that it plans to extend these product designs into future home appliances in the lineup.
Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “Receiving the Product Carbon Footprint certification for our home appliances is a significant milestone.”
