Less than a week ago, Samsung released a new Galaxy Z Fold 5 update that brought the February 2024 security patch to the device. The update was made available in the US first, and now, it is expanding to other markets.
This week, the February update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rolling out in Europe. It comes with firmware version F946BXXS1BXBE and is available both over the air and on our firmware archive. To download it over the air, you can open the Settings » Software update menu on the phone and select Download and install.
The latest Galaxy Z Fold 5 update is all about addressing security flaws discovered in the operating system. A total of 72 vulnerabilities have been fixed with the February patch. 61 fixes come from Google and 11 from Samsung, with three of them being marked critical while others are marked moderate or high-risk fixes.
The next update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 could bring One UI 6.1, though there is no guarantee that will be the case. One UI 6.1 is not as minor as these .1 updates generally tend to be because of the Galaxy AI features that are built into it, so Samsung is understandably taking longer than usual to roll it out to devices launched before the Galaxy S24 lineup.
