Rumors about the second-generation Vision Pro have been swirling around from even before the first-generation Vision Pro went on sale. Today, we have some new information about the successor to the Vision Pro, more specifically, related to the product’s launch timeline and the improvements that it will offer.
According to Mark Gurman on Bloomberg, Apple is at least 18 months away from launching the second-generation Vision Pro. That means the upcoming MR headset will arrive in August 2025 at the earliest. Furthermore, the analyst claims that Apple is very interested in knowing why people are returning to the Vision Pro. As such, it is asking the staff at the company’s retail stores to quiz people about what went wrong. Apple wants to pass the feedback to engineers so that they can fix those issues with the upcoming product.
Considering that Apple is planning to launch the second-generation Vision Pro in August 2025, the company might not follow the yearly refresh cycle for the MR headset as it does with iPhones. Reportedly, Apple is also developing an affordable version of the Vision Pro but even that headset will be out of reach for many.
