Earlier this month, Samsung released the February 2024 security update to the Galaxy S22. However, the update's availability was limited to the international and USA carrier-locked versions. The South Korean firm has now released a new security update to the factory-unlocked versions of phones in the Galaxy S22 lineup.

Factory-unlocked Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra units get February 2024 security patch in USA

Samsung has released the February 2024 security update to the factory-unlocked Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the USA. The update comes bearing firmware version S90xU1UES4DXA1 and is a minor update, so the download size is relatively smaller. If you live in the US and have a Galaxy S22 device that is factory unlocked, you can now check for the new update. You can do that by opening the Settings app on your phone, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install.

You can also choose the manual firmware flashing process, which includes searching for and downloading the appropriate firmware version for your device and flashing it manually using a computer running Windows OS and having the Odin tool installed.

The February 2024 security patch in the new update fixes 72 security vulnerabilities in the previous software version. Don't expect the update to bring any new features or performance enhancements. The One UI 6.1 update, scheduled to be released in the first half of this year, will bring some new features to the Galaxy S22. In our in-depth video below, you can watch what's new with the One UI 6.1 update.
