Samsung's drive to develop game-changing technology and Mercedes-Benz's commitment to elegance converged on the golf course in the Philippines. Samsung has renewed its relationship with the German luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz around an annual golf event.
The Korean tech giant announced that it has partnered with the car manufacturer to become a major sponsor of the 16th MercedesTrophy Gold invitational in the Philippines. It's the second time the two companies have joined forces around the golf tournament.
Samsung brought prizes for competitors
According to Samsung, the golf tournament welcomed esteemed guests, including over 140 VIPs. Samsung underlined its role as a platinum sponsor to the event through exclusive offers and raffles.
Prizes included Samsung TVs and soundbars, and one of the major prizes that were given away to MercedesTrophy winners was a Neo QLED 8K TV with Quantum Matrix technology, Dolby Atmos, and Object Tracking Sound.
There's no mention of which Neo QLED 8K TV models and sizes Samsung offered, but the company has yet to officially launch its 2024 Neo QLED and new soundbar lineups in the Philippines, where the 16th MercedesTrophy Gold invitational tournament took place. Therefore, it's logical to assume that Samsung's prizes consisted of 2023 models.
Samsung's 2024 TV and soundbar product lines were unveiled at CES in January and only recently became available for pre-order in select markets. They are the first to use Samsung's new AI technologies for improved image rendering.
